In this post I will briefly outline some of most widely recognised Australian Design Consultancies/think-tanks/design houses and design studios. The majority of which are located on Australia’s eastern coast. If you are currently job hunting, looking for a consultant this is the post to read! The businesses are in no particular order.

this is a good list! i just graduated this year and might check out these places to see if they have anything available job-wise.
What about Kennovations? They are probably not as big as the ones you listed but probably more innovative and IDEO-like.

NIELSEN HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR MANY YEARS THEY HAVE SOME GOOD ICONIC STUFF LIKE THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WALK BUTTONS THOSE BIG DURABLE THINGS. CLASSICALLY UGLY HEHE

1. Nielsen Design Associates.
In the late 90′s I did part of my NSW consultancy @ Nielsen’s under David Wood and my UNSW postgrad studies under Adam Laws.
David and Adam are the most approachable, knowledgeable and experienced gurus in Australian design.
