Charlwood Design sweeps the Melbourne Design Awards

Press Release by Luca Abate – @embody3d @martingibson – Monday – 8/11/10

Charlwood Design’s innovative design for the Catch-AllTM Broom for Oates has taken out the inaugural 2010 Melbourne Design Award for “best consumer product design”.

The Catch-AllTM is a uniquely shaped pull broom, dustpan and small brush which clip together into a complete package. Charlwood design has a long history working closely with Oates to create innovative and iconic product designs including household and outdoor brooms, mops and dustpans.

Charlwood design also had a number of products honoured as finalists in this year’s awards. This included the Entermo ruggedised blackberry case, the 321 water bottle and the Good design award winning SIM patient monitoring system.

‘It is gratifying that a product category as simplistic as cleaning can still lead design and innovation across the retail segment and win this award against other dynamic brands. We are delighted to partner with Charlwood Design in finding more innovation in the cleaning category and will continue to invest to do so.’
David Birch, Oates CEO
